ChatGPT Didn't Exist When I Last Posted. Now I'm Obsessed with What Comes Next
From writing Digital Sense to discovering why nearly every business framework is about to become obsolete
The Three-Year Silence Breaks: What I've Been Building in the Dark
The last time I wrote here, ChatGPT didn't exist. Think about that for a moment.
The first public release of ChatGPT occurred on November 30, 2022
My laptop still has the draft I never sent—something about digital transformation trends that now reads like ancient history. Three years of radio silence wasn't planned. It just happened. Life moved.
In fact, I forgot which email I used to login. One I NEVER use for accounts.
Projects evolved. And somewhere between writing Digital Sense, podcasting on Bad Crypto, and watching the world discover AI, I found myself in the eye of a technological hurricane.
The Book That Started Everything
Digital Sense came out in early 2017 and emerged from a simple observation: organizations were drowning in digital possibilities but starving for human understanding. We wrote about bridging that gap, about making technology serve human needs rather than the other way around. Customer Experience, Marketing Technologies, and Social Business Strategies. Well, now we are leveling up.
The book did well. Really well. But success has a way of revealing what's missing.
The Conversation That Changed Direction
Last year, I'm having drinks with a top B2B agency founder who's read Digital Sense three times, Chris Buehler, CEO of Scorch Agency. He looks at me and says, "This framework is brilliant, but how do I actually implement it when AI agents can do half my team's work?"
I didn't have an answer. Not a real one. Not yet. Not then.
That bothered me. Kept me up at night. Because he was right—we'd entered entirely new territory.
What I've Been Building
While this newsletter collected dust, I've been deep in the trenches with companies navigating the AI transformation. Not theorizing. Not pontificating. Actually building, breaking things, and discovering patterns that would have seemed like science fiction when I last posted here.
The insights from Digital Sense still matter. But they're now just the foundation for something far more profound.
The Next Chapter: AI Agent Economy
I have launched a new Substack: AI Agent Economy. It's where I'm documenting everything I'm learning about this seismic shift. Not the hype. Not the fear-mongering. The real, messy, transformative reality of AI agents reshaping how we work. (Ok maybe SOME fear mongering)
Think of it as Digital Sense 2.0—except we're not just making sense anymore. We're building the future.
Why This Matters to You
Remember why you subscribed to TW Rants? You wanted unfiltered thoughts, real insights, the stuff that doesn't make it into polished LinkedIn posts. That spirit lives on in AI Agent Economy, but with stakes that actually matter.
Every week, I'm sharing:
Failed experiments that taught me more than successes
Conversations with people whose entire industries are transforming overnight
Practical frameworks for navigating changes that have no playbook
The human stories behind the technology headlines
News that matters around the updates that are changing the world
The Book We're Writing Now
Yes, there's another book coming. The working title keeps changing because the landscape won't hold still long enough to capture it. But it's essentially about what happens when Digital Sense meets AI capability—when human intuition partners with artificial intelligence.
You'll see chapters develop in real-time through the newsletter. Your feedback will shape what makes it to print.
An Invitation, Not a Goodbye
TW Rants served its purpose. It was where I figured out my voice, where we connected over shared frustrations and discoveries. I'm grateful for every one of you who stuck around, even through the silence.
But now I need you somewhere else. The conversation has evolved, and so must we.

Not because I'm asking. But because you know, deep down, that sitting out this transformation isn't an option.
One Final Thought
Three+ years ago, I couldn't have imagined what's possible today. Three years from now, today will seem equally primitive. The only constant is change, and the only strategy is adaptation.
Let's figure out what's next together.
Still ranting, just about bigger things now,
Travis Wright
P.S. First AI Agent Economy post dropped earlier this week. It’s about the upcoming Ai Jobpocalypse. You probably don't want to miss it.
